Escape Room LA games are real-life
escape games where you and up to 11 others must race to beat the clock and escape from a locked room in less than one hour.
Our four available games are:
In all games, you'll work together to solve puzzles and clues that eventually will lead to your escape from the room. Some clues are fairly easy, while others might have you scratching your head. (But please avoid scratching the heads of strangers).
No special skills are needed. Communicate with each other, search the rooms carefully, and if you get stuck, move on to another area or a different puzzle.
Games will begin with a briefing by our staff, where we'll review the rules and answer any questions. Then, you'll be led into the room and your countdown to escape will begin. You'll either make your way out or we'll unlock the door when your time runs out. Although these games are challenging, don't worry - you'll have fun whether you escape or not! At the end of your game we'll recap your accomplishments and explain how to solve the remaining puzzles inside the room. Plan on spending a total of about 90 minutes with us from start to finish.
Be sure you arrive on time!
Leave ample time to find parking and take the elevator to our 3rd floor location. If you arrive after the door to the room has been locked, you will not be allowed to participate, and there are no refunds or exchanges permitted.
So what's the prize for escaping? Besides the tremendous pride and excitement you'll feel if you're one of the few exceptionally clever teams to make your way out of the room, you'll also be added to our Hall of Fame where you can bask in eternal glory and recognition!
Please do not spoil the fun of the games for other participants by revealing answers to puzzles and clues.

Are we really locked inside the room?
Yes! But you will get out, one way or another. No, really you will... we promise...
How much is it?
Escape Room LA is $30 per person weekdays / $35 per person weekends
Where are you located?
120 E. 8th Street in Downtown Los Angeles. This is a commercial office building on the south side of 8th Street at the corner of Los Angeles Street.
What is the schedule?
Weekday evenings, and weekend afternoons and evenings. The complete schedule can be found here.
Can children participate?
Absolutely. However, keep in mind that the games are designed for adults and some younger children might find the clues to be too difficult. Recommended for children ages 14/15 and up. Regardless of age, all participants must have a ticket. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Is this something scary?
Not at all. The games are designed to be challenging and fun. Although it is haunted, even The Theatre is scary only in an atmospheric way. None of our games have total darkness, or things jumping out to startle or scare you.
We're going underground in 'The Cavern'?
Just as you're not really traveling back in time to the 1940s at The Detective, you're not really going into a deep underground cavern either. Like most games, these are all simulated experiences!
Will other people be in the room with us?
Depending on the game capacity, a total of up to 12 people will be admitted to the room at one time. If you purchase fewer than the maximum number of tickets, most likely other people will also be in the room with you.
Can I have the room just for my group?
If you wish to have the room for your group only during one of our regularly-scheduled game times, you must purchase an entire block of all tickets for the date/time you wish to attend. You do not need to have the maximum number of participants, however you do need to pay the price for a full room.
We can also hold a private event just for your group on days and times when no public events are scheduled, for example on, a weekday afternoon. There is a 15% surcharge to do this. E-mail us with the date and time you're interested in and we'll contact you with details.
What do we need to bring?
Just a printout or electronic version of your booking confirmation.
Any tips or suggestions?
Yes, here are several:
1. The surest way to escape is by communicating openly with everyone else in the room. Talk to each other and share clues you've uncovered. Work together to solve puzzles. If you discover new information, be sure everyone in the room knows about it.
2. Follow the rules. Our staff will review the rules of the game with you before you begin, which include:
• There is no need to lift or move heavy objects, or climb on top of furniture.
• None of our games require the use of force. If something seems secured in place, it is.
If you break something in one of our games by using excessive force or reckless behavior, you must pay for it.
• Don't guess random combinations, try to pick locks, or use force to try opening locks.
• Cell phones and other electronic devices must remain off and can not be used inside the room.
3. If you're planning to get some drinks while you're downtown attending Escape Room LA
, please plan to do this after the game, not before. You'll want to have all of your brain cells working at 100% capacity while you're in the room! PLEASE NOTE: If members of your group appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, you will not be allowed in the room. This decision will be made at the discretion of our staff and no refunds or exchanges will be permitted. We take this very seriously as it could cause damage to the room, to yourself or others, and adversely affect others enjoyment of the experience.
4. Plan to arrive early or you may not be able to participate. Allow ample time for driving downtown, finding parking, and taking the elevator to our 3rd floor location. There are no refunds or exchanges so please allow more time than you think you might need - LA traffic in the downtown area can be unpredictably heavy at random times of the day or evening. If you arrive after the door to the room has been locked, you will not be allowed to participate.
Where can we park?
See this area parking map.
Can I bring my baby (or pet)?
Although we're sure your baby is exceptionally quiet and well-behaved, we can not allow babies in the rooms as they could interfere with others' enjoyment of the game. The only exception would be if you're booking the entire room for you and your friends only, and they're all aware that you'll be bringing a baby.
Pets of any kind are not permitted in the rooms. If you have a service animal that must accompany you at this event, you must contact us in advance of your scheduled booking. We will make every effort to accommodate you, however your choices of available dates and times may be limited.
Are there nearby places to eat, drink or get coffee after Escape Room LA?

We're located just east of Gallery Row, one of Downtown LA's most lively neighborhoods!
